Long story short, got the adapter, found loads of old pr0n, had an adderall fueled fan session that was suddenly interrupted by my PC restarting to which I shut it off......during an update.

PC wouldn't start up. Felt fucking stupid and tried to forget about it.
Thankfully I fixed it but I had to do a system repair by burning the windows installation onto a disk.
